We’re Chad and Melissa, and we created this site to preserve the experiences that make life memorable.
Some of those experiences happen while traveling. Others happen closer to home around the dinner table, at a neighborhood restaurant, in wine country, at a bourbon distillery, or while cooking a meal to share with family and friends.
Over the years, we’ve realized that our favorite memories deserve more than a few photos sitting on a phone. They deserve a story.
When we travel, we both take notes and photographs throughout the trip, capturing the details that are easy to forget with time. Everything goes into a shared album, and when we return home, those notes, photos, and memories become the foundation for the stories we publish.
Everything you’ll read here is based on experiences we’ve genuinely shared together. If we recommend a hotel, restaurant, winery, cocktail bar, or destination, it’s because we experienced it ourselves. If something didn’t live up to our expectations, we’ll say so honestly and respectfully.
What You'll Find Here
The PDX Blogger is a collection of the experiences we’ve enjoyed most, including:
Travel throughout the United States and around the world
Memorable restaurants and local food experiences
Hotels we’d gladly return to
Wineries, breweries, distilleries, craft cocktails, and local beverages
Cooking, entertaining, and sharing meals at home
Day trips, weekend getaways, and everyday moments worth remembering
We don’t set out to create content. Our content evolves naturally as each experience progresses. The stories write themselves.
We set out to experience places, meet people, enjoy great food and drinks, and make memories together.
This website is simply how we preserve those memories and share them with others who may be planning their own adventure or looking for ideas a little closer to home.
Every story is built from our own notes, photographs, and memories. If it wasn’t experienced, observed, or felt by us, it doesn’t belong here.
Thanks for visiting The PDX Blogger. We hope our stories inspire you to slow down, explore somewhere new, and create memories of your own.
